Axis Servo Drive – DOOSAN DVSD-TT-14A-05

The DVSD-TT-14A-05 is a digital CNC axis servo drive (“Digital Axis Servo Drive”) manufactured by DOOSAN, a component of the proprietary VISION CNC system installed on machining centres and CNC lathes in the DOOSAN/Daewoo range. The part number identifies a DVSD-series drive with TT-type power stage, 14 A rated current and variant 05. It manages the current and velocity control loops of the servo motor on a linear or rotary axis, interfacing with the VISION control CPU via the internal digital bus. No standard accessories are known to be included.

The servo drive is the electronic node that closes the current and velocity loop on the axis motor: it receives the position/speed reference from the CNC CPU and drives the servo motor with microsecond precision, ensuring dimensional accuracy and repeatability throughout machining. A drive failure immediately stops the affected axis with a CNC alarm: the machine cannot operate until the component is replaced or repaired, resulting in unplanned production downtime.

DOOSAN is a South Korean industrial conglomerate whose machine tool division was consolidated through the acquisition of Daewoo Heavy Industries in 2005; it produces CNC lathes, vertical and horizontal machining centres, and proprietary control systems distributed worldwide.
