The CDT14148B is a 14-inch colour CRT monitor (“14-inch Colour CRT Display”) manufactured for OKUMA CNC systems, documented as the operator panel display unit for controls in the OSP (Open System Platform) series. The monitor provides the visual interface between the numeric control and the operator, displaying NC programs, machine parameters, diagnostic screens, and alarm messages. It is a colour cathode-ray tube (CRT) monitor with a 14-inch 4:3 screen, designed for integration into the machine tool operator panel.
The operator panel monitor is the primary interface between the operator and the CNC control: without a working display it is impossible to access machining programs, diagnostic functions, or machine parameters. A monitor failure renders the machine completely inoperable, blocking any interaction with the numeric control, including programming, tool offset verification, and safety alarm monitoring.
OKUMA Corporation is one of the world’s largest and most established Japanese CNC machine tool manufacturers, founded in 1898 in Nagoya; it is among the few builders that develop both the machines and their own proprietary CNC controls (OSP – Open System Platform series) in-house. CRT monitors in the CDT14148B family are legacy / discontinued components: the transition away from CRT technology has made new units unavailable; replacement parts are obtainable only as used, NOS, or through conversion to a compatible LCD monitor.
