The QX084 is a panel-mount switching power supply unit (“Switching Power Supply Unit”) manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric, designed for CNC and industrial automation control systems of the MELDAS and related series. The module converts the mains AC input voltage into regulated DC voltages required by the machine tool control circuits (CPU boards, I/O boards, axis modules). It provides the stabilised supply rails demanded by the control rack; revisions or code variants may differ in connector layout or input voltage range.
The power supply is the foundational component of the entire CNC system: without it no processing board, no drive and no I/O module receives its operating voltage. A power supply failure causes an immediate and total machine stop; the quality of the generated voltages directly affects the reliability and lifespan of all other electronic circuits in the control unit.
