CNC Power Supply Unit – MITSUBISHI PD23A
The PD23A is a CNC power supply unit (“CNC Power Supply Unit”) manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric, documented as a component of the MELDAS series CNC controllers. The module converts the mains supply into multiple regulated DC outputs distributed to the logic boards, interface modules and servo drives of the CNC system. It is not a power drive module for axes or spindle, but the primary power source for the control electronics.
The CNC power supply is the component that delivers regulated power to all boards and modules in the control system: without it the CNC cannot start up or perform any function. A power supply failure results in complete loss of the operator panel, no communication with the axes and an immediate machine stop; it is therefore one of the most critical components for production continuity.
Mitsubishi Electric is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of CNC systems, servo drives and industrial automation, with a long-standing presence in the machine tool sector since the 1970s. The Mitsubishi CNC division produces the MELDAS, M70, M700 and M800 controller series. Components from older series such as the PD23A are legacy / discontinued and available only as used stock, NOS surplus, or through specialist repair.
